CGIL
CGIL (General Coordination of Labor Immigration)
The number of residence permits for work and investment purposes in March registered a drop in both yearly (-16.0%) and monthly (-13.5%) comparisons.
Graph 1 shows that since October 2020, the number of permits has been on a stable trend, averaging around 1,900.
Despite a reduction in the volume of permits, the number of Filipinos engaged in maritime activities registered a positive variation compared to February
(Graph 2)
Among skilled workers, Chinese immigrants stood out as main nationality (Graph 3).

CTPS/RAIS/NOVO CAGED
Harmonized database Work and Social Security Card (CTPS)/Annual Report of Social Information (RAIS)/New General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (CAGED)
For the second consecutive month, new jobs were created in the formal market, indicating that 2022 begins with positive prospects for immigrant workers.
The movement in the month of February was higher than that observed in the previous month and February 2021 (Graph 4).
Venezuelans were the nationality that benefited the most from the jobs created (Graph 5).
The largest volume of jobs was generated in the Southern Region of the country, particularly in the state of Santa Catarina (Map 1).

STI
STI (International Traffic System)
In the first three months of the year, the cross-border movement of people has been fluctuating around 1.3 million entries and exits, maintaining a positive
trend, although it has not yet reached the levels before the COVID-19 pandemic (Graph 6). As observed in recent months, the number of Brazilians leaving
the country has exceeded the number of arrivals, resulting in a negative balance of -47,512 movements.
The main nationalities crossing the Brazilian borders were from Argentina and the United States (Graph 7).

SISMIGRA
SisMigra (National Migration Registry System)
After two months of decline, the volume of immigrant registrations increased again in March, reaching the peak of requests since the beginning of the
historical series. This confirms a recovery trend after the health crisis (Graph 8).
This result was primarily determined by the registrations of Venezuelans (Map 2), who accounted for 42.8% of the residence requests through eligibility
purpose 273. The number of applications submitted by Ukrainians was very small, with only 8 registrations.
Boa Vista/RR, Manaus/AM, Pacaraima/RR, and São Paulo/SP were the cities with more residence registrations (Graph 9).

STI-MAR
STI-MAR (International Traffic System - Warning and Restrictions Module)
In March, the variation in the number of applications for refugee status oscillated negatively compared to February (-7.3%) and was significantly higher than
in March 2021 (270.5%), but still below the levels observed before the SARS-COV-2 pandemic (Graph 10).
Venezuelans dominated the pattern of asylum claims, followed by Cubans and Angolans. The latter nationality has been notably present in the last few
months. The number of claims from Ukrainians was very low, with only two applications (Map 3).
An aspect that is becoming recurrent is the strong presence of children and adolescents among asylum seekers. In March, the age group under 15 ranked
second only to the 25-40 age group, emphasizing the need for attention from public and migratory policymakers (Graph 11).
